Journey For The Heart

On August 27, 2007, I addressed the Boca Raton Home School Association about my decision to home school our children. I encouraged parents to not allow the feelings of inadequacies, the challenges, the difficulties, the unknown risks deter them from the task God has called them to.

A written transcript of the talk is available on the journeyfortheheart.com Resources page.

Dear Elizabeth,
I was at the home school meeting on 8/27 and was truly blessed and in awe over what you had to say. I know that God will use your testimony over and over again. I am keeping your card taped to my computer for others that may need to hear this. Thank you for sharing your story and allowing me to learn from it. I am now going to be more specific in my prayers and will by praying that God will create a giant in my daughter. Many blessings to you and your family. Jody Bardes

Elizabeth,
James is a special young man. I will never forget his smile. I want you to know that Cindy and I love you, Bill, and your children. I pray for you all and treasure your friendship. Your faith is powerful. Thank you for being who you are and thank you for doing this website. It is a powerful testimony to the difference a life can make that is lived in service to God. May the Lord continue to work in your lives as he always worked in the life of James. Your Friend, Kirk Brothers (Columbia, TN)

I came back to this podcast after hearing it months ago. What sprang out anew this time was your comment about how you thought you would have this whole "giant of a Women's speaker/teacher" thing down if it weren't for your children. It struck me that it is, in fact your experience and trials with your children that have set the stage for how you are helping so many of us now; helping us through this site. Not that any of us would ever have wished it. Nonetheless, your sacrifice and trials was, as in that economy you mentioned in an earlier podcast, paying the price for others. The parallels are obvious. The crack about the yellow school bus kills me every time. We long for that bus to come along and take away what we think are our trials but is, in fact, the vary hand of God working in our lives. Thank you.
